Ultimately, we want students to use multimedia software applications to present information to fellow classmates. Students often create excellent presentations when given the proper guidelines and training. Errors sometimes include too much information on a slide, font or graphics unclear, lack of proper citation, and violation of copyright laws.
 
As a general rule multimedia presentations like PowerPoint are used to present bulleted or topical information with the details given in another format like discussion, lecture, handout, etc. Who hasn't seen a presentation with way too much information on each slide ("Death By Bullets"). Fonts should contrast sharply from backgrounds, and font styles should be without many frills or intricate details. They tend to blur when projected. Graphics need to be sized correctly so they do not pixilate (blur). Information obtained from outside sources should always be cited correctly, and all copyright laws should be strictly followed.
