Session One will focus on presenting content to students using the classroom presentation stations.

Let's begin with a journal writing activity. Take a few moments and brainstorm this question: What do you hope to learn in this training session?

While you are brainstorming, go to the following link which you can use as a timer in your classroom:
http://www.vickiblackwell.com/timer.html

After three minutes, the instructor will call up a blank Word document and create a bulleted list of what class members hope to learn.

How else might you integrate the presentation technology into the classroom?
  • Announcements
  • Homework
  • Class work
Examine the linked example:

Consider how to use the interactive-pen display while we are looking at the resources below. The instructor will demonstrate some activities.

Bell-ringers are another way to integrate the technology. The website below has numerous upper-level mathematical problems that could be used for class starters:

As a class we will examine question 69.

Another idea is to to download resources from the Internet. The file below is the Exit Level Social Studies/ELA TAKS Study Guide obtained from the Texas Education Agency website:
Social Studies/ELA TAKS Study Guide
Jump to page 108 and examine how it could be used.

TAKS release tests may also be downloaded. Questions could be used for any number of presentation activities:

Simply delivering class notes is a basic way to use the presentation equipment:
Content Presentation

Teacher delivering content is just one way to use the presentation equipment. An electronic copy of the resources can be updated and used again, and they provide an excellent resource for other teachers and absent students. Electronic files are versatile and can be used in a variety of ways (i.e. posting on the Internet, student modifications, etc.).
